My Wish for You Today
My wish for you today is that YOU create your goals. And that you have no problem letting go of goals that donβt serve you. I also send wishes for you that your goals are inspiring. And the goals that you must do, youβre able to find inspiring thoughts about them. And, as a reminder, you arenβt your goals.

New Things. New Things. New Things!
New Things in the New Year. If youβre listening to this episode at a different time, I wish you a happy new day. Each day has the gift of providing a tremendous new start for your life. Iβm excited for you!
The biggest new thing for me, isnβt really a new thing.
If you are so inclined, you can take a listen to the episode I released about this time last year - I had plans. I was going to take a podpause - where I pause releasing podcast episodes - and had plans for what Iβd do with that time.
And then it was 2022. I did buy a house and the house needed way more work than I was expecting. I had a lot less free time than I originally planned and well - it is life after all - things did not go as planned. But I did have a lot of fun figuring it all out. The one area that was neglected the most was - yes, this podcast - and all the things I planned to do around it.
Iβm ever so thankful for the C.E.O. Training Team members this year - The Training Team work has been incredibly fun to continue through all of my life changes.
Iβm also super proud that we DID manage to migrate (ha ha ha) from the term of flock to the C.E.O. Training Team - helping you to become the Conscious Effective Olympian of your life in a way that you learn to trust your own inner guidance - thatβs all very important to me.
In relistening to episode 155 - where I shared about last yearβs change - I had forgotten that so much of this setup was all new this year. Which means Iβm taking the time to celebrate that win as we embark on year 2 of the C.E.O. Training Team offering! If youβd like to hear more about the beginnings of the C.E.O. Training Team, take a listen to that episode- youβll find it in the show notes.
Iβm sharing this with you because, well, I have the same plans this year, as last year - After this episode, Iβm taking podpause again. Iβll focus on the C.E.O. Training Team - building up resources, curating content, the delivery of the Empty Nest Success app and some other surprises!
If you arenβt already following me on the socials, I invite you to join me now - youβll find me on most platforms with the handle @emptynestcoach. If youβre looking for a bit more, sign up for a free account in the Empty Nest Success community to stay in the know - receive weekly what if affirmations - and more!

My Lessons Learned
When Emotions are Like Farts
I couldnβt resist this title and this one came right from a C.E.O. Training Team Power Hour session!
Iβm kind of in love with this new analogy, too.
One of the amazing humans in our group was sharing about losing patience with their emerging adult kiddo. And from what I understand - they really losing their patience.
My listener, we donβt judge here, this is life - and I invite you to take a moment and imagine something that might cause you to lose your patience with your child - are they not helping around the house? Are they being disrespectful? Are they making a mess and expecting you to clean it up all the time - or is it way more serious? Take a moment to think about it and then imagine that straw-on-a-camel's-back moment when it becomes too much and you - for lack of better words - lose it - whatever that looks like for you.
High-level, your emotions take over and they steamroll you, your Protector is on high-alert - all the alarms are going off in your mind - and your protectorβs amazing job of protecting - allows your emotions to let loose.
It makes sense.
[dramatic music begins]
The emotions you have have been bottled up and get to a point where they need to escape - and this incredible human who started this whole conversation in our Power Hour said - you know, it has to come up - kind of like a fart.
Oh my goodness, that made me smile. What an amazing analogy.
And then we went a bit deeper with the analogy, and I mentioned that yeah, it is like fart but when we have the emotions and we donβt address them internally - it is as if we have to pass gas so bad while we are in a room full of people and weβre trying to figure out how to cover up this thing up. You know itβs going to happen and it ends up being those clear-the-room types of silent but deadly gas sessions. Oh my.
[music ends]
And that is scenario 1 for your emotions: you feel all those emotions rising within you, youβre trying to hold it together, with sincere effort to find the right words but you donβt feel like they are workingβ¦ and - yeah,
[dramatic music]
here it comes.
[new music - more inspirational]
THEN thereβs scenario 2. You feel the gas rumbling, you know it needs to be released. You excuse yourself from the room - knowing it will be really uncomfortable if you donβt - and, yeah, for this one you even head outside and have the glorious, abundant freedom to LET IT RIP. Ah, sweet relief.
If this scenario were our emotionsβ¦ imagine we can feel we are headed to a blow up of epic proportions. That is a good time to consider sharing something like βIβm experiencing some strong emotions here and Iβm going to excuse myself for a bit allowing myself to come back when Iβm sure these are warranted emotions for where we are.β And try to get some time to process the emotions in a way that serves you - this is a great time to use your C.E.O. Toolbox items.
You can start by identifying the emotions & labeling them. Figure out what thoughts are driving those emotions - and ask yourself if those words are true - you can also process them out in a way that works for you: journaling, walking, running, using boxing gloves and a punching bag - or a pillow - whatever works for you.
Sometimes youβll realize - oh, for sure - that emotion is what I need right now - other times you may find yourself feeling differently.
Allow yourself to explore your thoughts and emotions with love. You arenβt your thoughts and you arenβt your emotions, after all. You are so much more!
Iβm cheering you on, friend. Now go let those farts out.

Two Questions for You
Question 1: How do you handle your farts in life: emotional and real ones?
and Question 2: Do you know in your heart: you are amazing?
