Your Empty Nest Coach Podcast, Episode 27: What Are You Making Grades Mean?

Hello, my Empty Nest Friend!

So, I wonder if this episode is the one that gets my listeners worked up. These are thoughts that we don’t hear often, so I’m putting them out there. If you aren’t a fan of my approach – it is all good, differences are what makes this world interesting.

However, if you can barely stand to listen to my take on grades, I challenge you to take a look at your thoughts and be curious as to the why. Ask yourself, “Who would I be in the world, if for a moment, I tried on these new thoughts and could find myself in a space where I believe them?”

Let me know where you are and let’s chat about it.  If you are happy with who you show up in the world as with your thoughts on this topic, then you are all good!

You are preparing for the empty nest ahead as your child(ren) prepares, heads off to, and experiences college.

Changes in four years since I first created this page: moved twice as a family, navigated all four years of out of state college for daughter (now graduated), I lost weight, started taking better care of myself, started working full-time while building this business, turned 50-years-old, hubby above is now ex-hubby, got a great new job, cranked out 150+ podcast episodes, attended my first podcasting conference, spoke at the next one, and just bought a manufactured home for me (and my daughter for as long as she needs to be there) to live in. Empty Nest Success doesn’t always look like over the moon happiness. Sometimes, it looks like accepting what is, processing emotions, and moving forward as peacefully as possible with little drama – and that feels amazing! Up next: move to the new home and change my name – then I’ll be ready to dive back in here! 💚 – 03/26/2022

Your Empty Nest Coach Podcast, Episode 24: With My Child Heading to College, are the Thoughts I am Having Normal?

Hello, my Empty Nest Friend!

My future empty nest friend, I want to talk about the normal thoughts that you may expect to have as you prepare for your child heading to school.

Our minds like to be creative. Here are some that I’ve heard from friends, clients, and family:

  • Will they ever bathe in college?
  • Will they find a community that welcomes them?
  • How will they focus enough to study with the many distractions available on a college campus?
  • What the heck am I going to do with my time?
  • Will they eat well?
  • Will they party too much and drop out of school?
  • What if they take seven years to get through school?
  • Motherhood is over!
I’ve got you! Take a listen, or read the transcript, below.
