See you there!

You are preparing for the empty nest ahead as your child(ren) prepares, heads off to, and experiences college.

Changes in four years since I first created this page: moved twice as a family, navigated all four years of out of state college for daughter (now graduated), I lost weight, started taking better care of myself, started working full-time while building this business, turned 50-years-old, hubby above is now ex-hubby, got a great new job, cranked out 150+ podcast episodes, attended my first podcasting conference, spoke at the next one, and just bought a manufactured home for me (and my daughter for as long as she needs to be there) to live in, changed my last name, podcast hit 100K downloads, and I’m working on a book!

Empty Nest Success doesn’t always look like over the moon happiness. Sometimes, it looks like accepting what is, processing emotions, and moving forward as peacefully as possible with little drama – and that feels amazing!

Your Empty Nest Coach Podcast, Episode 17: Green Popsicle Stick

Hello, my Empty Nest Friend!

This episode has taken more energy than most others!

It took me weeks to gather my thoughts and then a few more additional weeks to put them together and even assemble it. The result is a fable I created for us! It is my gift to you.  Let me know if it resonates with you. In today’s episode, I introduce you to Greenlee the green popsicle stick.

Your Empty Nest Coach Podcast, Episode 16: How I lost almost 50 pounds and am still losing

Hello, my Empty Nest Friend!

Well, here we go, I’m sharing how I lost 50 pounds – and am still losing. I finally hit the 50-pound mark, between recording this episode and go-live. And I sat at about 48 pounds lost for over two months. I’m proud that I didn’t let it get to me, didn’t let the drama creep in and kept doing what I’ve been doing. Let me tell you it feels terrific to not let food boss me around.

More about that in this episode where I share the catalyst for my weight loss. Enjoy.

PS – The picture (above) in this post is the perfect example of me working on “good enough.” I would never have put that out in the world – not because of my weight but because of the lame clean-up work around the photos in my featured photo at the top. The old me would have kept working on it to make it close to “perfect.” The new me thinks, “This is good enough. The message comes across, and I can now work on something else.” Progress comes in all areas of our lives -for all of us. Celebrate your wins like that – even when, to the world, it looks like a loss, you know the progress you are making inside. {{hugs}}

Photo from my daughter’s high school graduation. Just before I changed my thoughts about food – definitely a top weight photo for me (pictured with my dear father).
The shock on my face when I fit comfortably into mediums.

Your Empty Nest Coach Podcast, Episode 15: Being Brave When Your Child Picks a Non-local School, or Going Far Away to College; How to be The Emotional Adult in The Room

Hello, my Empty Nest Friend!

Anne (my guest) and I touched on this in my last episode – how to be the emotional adult in the room.  College is a significant change – and when they go far enough away that they can’t stop by for dinner – it is a REALLY SIGNIFICANT change.

You can handle it. I know you can. Take some deep breaths, do some thought work and you’ve got this.
